Scope: The agency was charged with carrying out its State Plan, which was filed with the US Department of Labor and included countless IT upgrades across the agency. PPM provided project management and business analysis services to determine the best way to meet the agencies objectives, leveraging a $25M capital improvement project budget. PPM became a trusted advisor to the CIO and the Agency Director and drafted plans and strategies to achieve the agency’s commitment on macro and micro levels. As a component of this project, PPM also developed the IT department’s supporting strategic plan.

  • In particular, PPM:

  1. Assessed risks and review technical risk assessments for the independent document management program for the Labor Standards Bureau and as well as for the program for the remainder of the Agency, including subsystem designs, architectures, and computer systems in terms of their impact on costs, benefits, schedule and technical performance.

  2. Performed cost and schedule risk assessments for the independent document management program for the Labor Standards Bureau and as well as for the program for the remainder of the Agency, to support various alternatives to meet mission need, recommend alternative courses of action when one or more interdependent segment(s) or phase(s) experienced a delay, and recommended opportunities for new technology insertions.
